KKFI to Carry Un-Conventional Coverage of Republican and Democratic Political Conventions
Democracy Now! News Coverage: “Breaking with Convention”
KKFI 90.1 FM, your source for in-depth news and analysis, will not be following the script provided by the two major political parties at the upcoming conventions. If you want coverage that looks beyond the balloons and the bunting, then KKFI is the place to be.
Democracy Now!, which airs weekdays from 8:00-9:00 am on KKFI, will expand to a two-hour broadcast during the 2012 Republican National Convention (RNC) and Democratic National Convention (DNC). Amy Goodman and the Democracy Now! crew will travel to Tampa Bay and Charlotte to report from the streets, to the suites, to the convention floor. KKFI listeners will remember that Amy was arrested at the RNC in Minnesota in 2008. “When journalists are arrested, that has a chilling effect on the functioning of a democratic society,” said Goodman, whose show airs on over 1000 radio and TV stations across the country. “We shouldn’t have to get a record to put things on the record.”
