I Love KC Music – Carrie Nation and the Speakeasy and more
If you love roots music, the Westport Saloon is a true gem in Kansas City. On January 7, 2017, Carrie Nation and the Speakeasy, Deadeye., Feast ov Fools, and Karla & Too Bad Jim all played for one epic night of music. Carrie Nation (Wichita, KS) has this hard core roots sound with guitar, banjo, bass, trumpet, drums/washboard, mandolin, and trombone. There energy was on fire and the whole crowd was going wild. The Saloon was packed with people there to hear the amazing music. Oh was it ever a night to live for! I can already tell this night will make my best of 2017 list. Catch them live yourself for the joy of it. Deadeye. (Pittsburg, KS) is an all female band with hints of folk, bluegrass, and rock. Their music will have you dancing with their great harmonies, guitar, banjo, saxophone, violin percussion. I had been hearing some buzz around Feast ov Fools (Kansas) and they did not dissapoint! Feast ov Fools had electirc energy, talented musicians, and great music. Karla & Too Bad Jim (Kansas City, MO) was fun. Their band has a bit of quirk and a bit of an old time feel. What a fantastic night!
